Optional steel shell for 72 (in.) by 120 (in.) pour in place installation. The steel shells are installed when the concrete is being poured, to provide steel panels on each vertical face of the pit, along with steel flanges along the top faces. Proper installation of a dock leveler requires the leveler to be welded along the upper rear edge of the pit, and the steel shells provide this edge. The steel shells include a front lower steel angle, that gets placed at the front bottom of the pit. This angle provides another essential location where the leveler needs to be welded to the pit.
